Prestige Holdings Limited (PHL), franchisee for KFC, confirms that a regrettable event took place this morning between 9am and 10am, Sunday 22 April 2018, outside of our Independence Square restaurant. The Store Manager asked the security officer on duty to escort out of the restaurant a gentleman who entered not as customer and did not come in to utilize the bathroom or the dine-in facilities of KFC but rather was making strange demands and taking pictures of staff with his phone. The two baton guards stationed in the Dine area of the store responded to remove the gentleman. However, once outside, an altercation took place between the gentleman and one of the guards, where the gentleman was seriously injured. The police and ambulance services were contacted immediately and he was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, he succumbed and we offer our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.  We are cooperating fully with the police should they require further information to complete their investigation.
